Job summary

Sigma Aerospace Workforce in Melbourne is seeking Aircraft Maintenance Engineers specializing in Structures and Sheet Metal for opportunities at Essendon Fields. This role welcomes qualified aviation structures tradespeople from T1 through T4 to perform repairs, fabrication, and installation on Beechcraft Bonanza/Baron/Duchess.

Responsibilities include following SRMs and drawings, riveting, corrosion repair, applying coatings, and maintaining maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Aviation structures or sheet metal experience is highly regarded; all levels encouraged to apply.
• Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Structures) is essential.
• CASA Part 66 licence or progress towards one is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Must have full Australian working rights; visa sponsorship not available.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC).
• Overseas or military equivalents require client assessment before submission.

Responsibilities

• Repair, modify, fabricate and install aircraft structural and sheet metal components.
• Carry out structural maintenance per SRMs, drawings and approved data.
• Perform riveting, fastening, drilling and countersinking operations.
• Conduct corrosion inspections, repairs and treatments.
• Apply protective coatings and finish work.
• Interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
• Support and mentor apprentices and junior staff.
