Job summary

Metcash Limited is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) professional to partner with Food & Liquor leaders across SA, NT and Tasmania, strengthening culture, governance and compliance in distribution centres and retail sites.

You will coach leaders on risk, incident management and broader SHE matters, while supporting continuous improvement of the SHE Management System, site plans and documentation. This is a hybrid role with a focus on practical expertise and stakeholder collaboration.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health & Environment or a related discipline.
• 5+ years' experience in a SHE support role, ideally within logistics, warehouse or retail environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian SHE legislation, including heavy vehicle and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• ICAM investigation training/certification and the ability to build safety capability with operational leaders.
• Strong communication, influencing, relationship-building and analytical skills.
• A proactive, pragmatic and collaborative approach, with strong organisation and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Metcash SHE Management System, site plans and documentation.
• Lead risk management activities, including assessments, inspections, hazard management and critical control verification.
• Monitor incidents and injury trends, support investigations and share learnings to drive continuous improvement.
• Support SHE audits, improvement plans, training, emergency response planning and due diligence activities.
