Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited is seeking a SHE professional to drive safety, health and environmental outcomes across SA, NT and Tasmania, including our distribution centres and retail sites. You’ll partner with operational leaders to strengthen culture, governance and compliance, manage critical risks and help deliver safer workplaces.

You’ll monitor incidents, support investigations, and contribute to audits, training and due diligence to enable continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ experience in a SHE support role, ideally within logistics, warehouse or retail environments.
• Strong knowledge of Australian SHE legislation, including heavy vehicle and Chain of Responsibility requirements.
• ICAM investigation training/certification and the ability to build safety capability with operational leaders.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Food & Liquor leaders across SA, NT and Tasmania to strengthen SHE culture, performance and compliance.
• Coach leaders on critical risks, incident and injury management, control verification and broader SHE matters.
• Support effective implementation and continuous improvement of the Metcash SHE Management System, site plans and documentation.
• Lead risk management activities, including assessments, inspections, hazard management and critical control verification.
• Monitor incidents and injury trends, support investigations and share learnings to drive continuous improvement.
• Support SHE audits, improvement plans, training, emergency response planning and due diligence activities.

What You’ll Bring

• Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health & Environment or a related discipline.
