Job summary

Total Resource Solutions in Melbourne is seeking an experienced SharePoint Developer/Engineer to lead a major upgrade from SharePoint 2016 to Subscription Edition within an Azure IaaS environment.

You will build and configure new SharePoint farms, validate custom solutions, and support the full migration lifecycle including testing, production cutover, rollback and operational handover. The role emphasizes hands-on administration and delivering a repeatable upgrade approach across environments.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Server Subscription Edition.
• Hands-on database-attach upgrade experience is required.
• Experience delivering upgrades and admin tasks in Azure IaaS environments.
• Proficient in PowerShell and SharePoint administration.

Responsibilities

• Build and configure SharePoint Server Subscription Edition farms in Azure IaaS.
• Recreate farm topology, web apps, service apps, authentication, permissions and accounts.
• Perform database readiness checks and database-attach upgrades.
• Configure SharePoint Search, User Profile, Managed Metadata and Secure Store.
• Troubleshoot C# components, Web Parts, event receivers and Feature receivers.
• Validate integrations with Graph, Entra ID, MSAL, REST and WCF.
• Support high availability, load balancing, DNS and security settings.
• Assist with testing, cutover, rollback and handover.

Primary Purpose

We are seeking an experienced SharePoint Developer / Engineer to lead the technical delivery of a major SharePoint upgrade from SharePoint Server 2016 to SharePoint Server Subscription Edition within an Azure IaaS environment.

The role will be responsible for building and configuring new SharePoint farms, validating and remediating custom solutions, and supporting the full migration lifecycle including testing, production cutover, rollback and operational handover.

Key Accountabilities

• Build and configure SharePoint Server Subscription Edition farms hosted within Azure IaaS.
• Recreate farm topology, web applications, service applications, authentication, certificates, permissions and service accounts.
• Perform database readiness checks and database-attach upgrades.
• Configure and validate SharePoint Search, User Profile, Managed Metadata and Secure Store.
• Assess, deploy and remediate WSP and full-trust SharePoint farm solutions.
• Troubleshoot custom C# components including Web Parts, event receivers and Feature receivers.
• Validate integrations across Microsoft Graph, Entra ID, MSAL, REST and WCF.
• Support high availability, load balancing, DNS, networking and security configuration.
• Assist with testing, production cutover, rollback, hypercare and operational handover.
• Establish a repeatable upgrade approach that can be applied across multiple environments.

Essential Requirements

• Strong experience with SharePoint Server 2016 and SharePoint Server Subscription Edition.
• Demonstrated experience delivering direct SharePoint 2016 to Subscription Edition upgrades.
• Hands-on database-attach upgrade experience.
• Strong SharePoint farm administration and PowerShell capability.
• Experience with WSP/full-trust solutions and the SharePoint Server Object Model.
• Working knowledge of C# and .NET Framework 4.8.
• Strong understanding of Search, User Profile, Managed Metadata and Secure Store.
• Experience across IIS, SQL connectivity, authentication and certificate management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across ULS, IIS and SharePoint upgrade logs.
• Experience supporting Azure IaaS-hosted, load-balanced SharePoint farms.
