Job Description

MWL Bride MWL Bride is seeking a skilled and reliable Textile, Clothing and Footwear Mechanic to support the operation, set-up, adjustment and maintenance of sewing and textile machinery used within our bridal garment production environment. The successful candidate will help ensure machinery is correctly configured for production requirements, operating effectively and maintained to a high standard, supporting the precision and quality required in the production of made-to-order bridal garments.

Task & Responsibilities

• Benefits Task & responsibilities Set up, adjust and maintain industrial sewing machines and other textile machinery used in garment production.
• Set guides, stops and other controls on machine tools and configure machine controls to suit production requirements.
• Adjust machine settings and components to support accurate and consistent operation across different bridal fabrics, materials and garment constructions.
• Diagnose machinery faults and identify mechanical or operational issues affecting sewing and textile equipment.
• Perform routine and operational maintenance to keep machinery functioning safely, efficiently and reliably.
• Overhaul and repair sewing and textile machinery as required, including adjustment or replacement of relevant mechanical components.
• Assemble, install or reposition machinery and associated equipment within the production environment where required.
• Inspect and test machinery following set-up, adjustment, maintenance or repair to confirm correct operation before production use.
• Respond to machinery issues arising during production and carry out appropriate adjustments to minimise interruptions to workflow.
• Maintain appropriate records of servicing, maintenance, adjustments and repairs performed on production machinery.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure machinery is appropriately prepared and maintained for the quality and precision standards required in made-to-order bridal garment production.

Qualification & experience

Relevant trade qualification or equivalent technical training in textile machinery, mechanical fitting, sewing machine servicing or a closely related field. Practical experience setting up, adjusting, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial sewing machines and/or textile production machinery.

Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to diagnose faults and undertake routine maintenance, repairs and machine adjustments. Ability to accurately set machine guides, stops and controls according to production requirements. Understanding of machinery used in clothing or textile production and the impact of machine settings on different fabrics and materials.

Ability to inspect and test equipment following maintenance or repair and identify further adjustments where required. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining reliable machinery performance in a quality-focused production environment. Good organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to respond effectively to machinery issues and production priorities.

Ability to work collaboratively with designers, pattern makers, seamstresses and other production team members.
