Job summary

Your Recruitment Agency Pty Ltd in Sydney CBD NSW is seeking an experienced Bridal Patternmaker to join its creative team. This hands-on role requires technical expertise in bridal and couture garments, with strong CAD patternmaking and traditional manual patternmaking skills.

You will develop production-ready patterns from concept to final fit, collaborating with design and production teams to achieve the desired silhouette, fit and finish for luxury bridal gowns.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Patternmaker, preferably within bridal, couture, eveningwear or high-end fashion.

A highly regarded Australian Luxury Bridal label is seeking an experienced Bridal patternmaker to join its creative team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who has a strong technical understanding of bridal and couture garments, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work confidently using both CAD patternmaking and traditional manual patternmaking techniques.
You will be responsible for developing accurate, production-ready patterns from initial concepts through to final fit, working closely with our design and production teams to ensure each garment achieves the desired silhouette, fit and finish.
Key Responsibilities

• Create and develop patterns for bridal gowns, wedding dresses, bodices, skirts, sleeves, corsetry and associated bridal garments.
• Develop patterns using CAD software, ensuring accuracy and consistency across styles and sizes.
• Produce and modify patterns using traditional/manual patternmaking techniques.

• Conduct fittings and make precise pattern adjustments to achieve exceptional garment fit.

About You We are looking for someone who is technically excellent, highly experienced and passionate about bridal fashion or couture evening wear.
You will ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Patternmaker, preferably within bridal, couture, eveningwear or high-end fashion.
• Strong knowledge of bridal garment construction and fitting.
• Advanced ability in CAD patternmaking.
• Strong traditional/manual patternmaking skills — we are looking for someone who can confidently work on the stand and/or develop patterns manually when required.
• Excellent understanding of garment balance, proportion, fit and construction.
• Experience working with complex silhouettes, corsetry, structured bodices and intricate bridal designs.
• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to interpret a designer's vision and translate it into technically precise patterns.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and correct fit issues.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a wider design and production team.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.
