Job summary

The Riverland Mallee Coorong Local Health Network in Barmera, SA, is seeking a part-time Services Assistant (WHD2) to support catering, cleaning, housekeeping and laundry services across the health unit.

Salary range is from $1,255.96 to $1,268.82 per week (pro rata), with ongoing permanent, part-time employment and multiple positions available. You will work in a team, ensure safety standards, and use basic computer skills including Microsoft Office.

  • WHD2 | Health Ancillary Employee Level 2 | $1,255.96 to $1,268.82 per week (pro rata)

About the Role: The Services Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the health unit by providing high-quality catering, cleaning, housekeeping and laundry services. This varied and rewarding position is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in their work, and is committed to providing excellent service to clients and staff.

  • Teamwork & flexibility: Works effectively with diverse teams, staff, and rostering requirements.
  • Communication & customer service: Demonstrates strong interpersonal, communication, numeracy, and customer service skills.
  • Reliability & work performance: Meets deadlines, works under general direction, and assists colleagues as required.
  • Safety & compliance: Understands basic food safety, infection control, cleaning, sanitising, and workplace safety requirements.
  • Practical & computer skills: Has basic experience in housekeeping, catering, and laundry, with knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Desired Criteria
  • Qualifications: Year 11 completion and current First Aid certificate.
  • Practical experience: Experience in housekeeping, catering, laundry, and manual handling.
  • Additional skills & knowledge: Basic computer skills and understanding of Equal Employment Opportunity principles.
