Job summary

Jobstar Pty LTD is seeking a Service Technician based in Brisbane to maintain and upgrade municipal and industrial water treatment plants across Queensland. You’ll travel to multiple sites, perform installation, servicing, and troubleshooting of filtration, disinfection equipment, pumps, and valves, and keep detailed service records.

Ideal candidates have proven experience in water treatment systems, strong problem-solving skills, a focus on safety, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in water treatment or a similar field.
• Chlorine gas experience highly sought after.
• Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment systems, including filtration and disinfection techniques.

Responsibilities

• Install, service, repair and upgrade water treatment systems and components (filtration, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves).
• Conduct routine maintenance, inspections, and performance tests.
• Troubleshoot system issues and implement timely solutions.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients to improve performance and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate service records and client communications.

Job description

Based out of Brisbane, this role focuses on the maintenance and upgrade of existing Water Treatment Plants at municipal (government) and industrial sites. You’ll be on the road – visiting a variety of sites throughout Queensland; from cities and towns and remote regional locations too!

• Install, service, repair and upgrade water treatment systems, including filtration systems, disinfection equipment, pumps, valves, and other components.
• Conduct routine maintenance checks, inspections, and performance tests on water treatment systems to ensure optimal functionality and adherence to industry regulations.
• Troubleshoot system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs, provide technical advice, and offer recommendations for improving system performance and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, including equipment maintenance logs, service reports, and client communication.
• Stay up-to-date with industry advancements, best practices, and regulatory changes to provide informed technical support and ensure compliance with relevant standards.
• Embrace and champion safety on-site to prevent accidents and promote a safe work environment.

SUCCESS PROFILE:

• Proven experience as a Service Technician, preferably in the water industry or a similar field
• Chorine gas experience (highly sought after)
• Strong knowledge of drinking water treatment systems, including various filtration methods, disinfection techniques, and water quality parameters is also desirable but not essential.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a natural ability to troubleshoot.
• Exceptional customer focus and communication and listening skills
• Attention to detail and eagerness to learn.
• Valid driver’s license
