Job summary

Hare & Forbes in Sydney's Northmead branch seeks an experienced Service Technician to service customer machine tools via warranty, preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs.

You'll work on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fitting both in the workshop and at customer sites, with training provided to build a broad, professional skill set. Monday to Friday, no night shifts.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification and 5+ years in a similar role.
• Experience in servicing B2B and B2C customers.
• Mechanical and hydraulic fitting experience with industrial tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot machine faults and take corrective action.
• Attention to detail to keep returns <5% on service/warranty.
• Valid C-class driver’s license and clean driving history.

What's it all about?

Conveniently located in our Sydney Branch at Northmead we are looking for an experienced Service Technician to join the team of staff responsible for servicing our customer’s machine tools via warranty, preventative maintenance, and break-down repairs.

You’ll be involved in all aspects of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fitting both within the workshop and our customer's place of business. You’ll also be inspecting, commissioning, installing, repairing and maintaining industrial machinery.
You’ll be in frequent contact with Hare and Forbes customers and will need to be well spoken and well presented.
We’ll provide training and guidance and you’ll develop an extensive and impressive set of skills working with us.

What do you need to do in the role?

• Relevant Trade qualification and 5+ years' experienceina similar role.
• Demonstrated employment in B2B and B2C servicework.
• Experience in Mechanical and hydraulic fitting skills with a broad range of industrial and machine tools used in engineering and carpentry trades.
• Ability to trouble shoot using your trade skills to determine machine faultsand take corrective action.
• Having good attention to detail to ensure <5% returns on serviceclaims/warranty work.
• Minimum C class driver’s license and clear drivinghistory.

Other desirable skills that would be helpful but not essential

• Electrical knowledge, plus experience with electronics and PLCs.
• Confident in the use of computers, and willing to adopt a flexible approach to working hours when required.
• Restricted Electrical license
• Current First aid
• Current Low Voltage Rescue and Resuscitation.
