Job summary

Taylex Australia is seeking a Service Technician to join our Queensland Service Team, servicing customers across Brisbane and the Moreton Bay region. This field-based role involves servicing, troubleshooting and repairing domestic wastewater systems, with most time spent on the road visiting customers and carrying out preventative maintenance.

Ideal candidates will hold a QBCC licence, have current Australian work rights, strong practical skills, and a customer‑focused approach.

Qualifications

• Current QBCC licence.
• Experience in plumbing, wastewater, irrigation, maintenance or similar.
• Ability to use power and hand tools and perform repairs.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled servicing of Taylex wastewater systems across Brisbane and Moreton Bay region.
• Inspect, service and maintain wastewater systems and land application areas for optimal performance and compliance.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot and perform breakdown repairs as required.
• Carry out preventative maintenance to maximise reliability.
• Record service activities and repairs using the electronic reporting system.
• Collect payment for approved additional repairs and maintenance work.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service.
• Identify lost customers and new service opportunities and report to Service Manager.
• Improve efficiency of service runs and daily activities.
• Maintain compliance with safety, QBCC licensing and company policies.

Role Overview

Taylex is seeking a Service Technician to join our Queensland Service Team, servicing customers across Brisbane and the Moreton Bay region.

This is a hands-on field-based role where you'll be responsible for servicing, troubleshooting and repairing domestic wastewater treatment systems. You'll spend most of your time on the road visiting customers, solving problems, carrying out preventative maintenance, and ensuring systems continue to operate safely and efficiently.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working independently, has strong practical skills, and takes pride in delivering great service to customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete scheduled servicing of Taylex domestic wastewater treatment systems across Brisbane and the Moreton Bay region.
• Inspect, service, and maintain wastewater treatment systems and associated land application areas to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
• Diagnose faults, troubleshoot system issues, and perform breakdown repairs as required.
• Carry out preventative maintenance activities to minimise system failures and maximise reliability.
• Record service activities, findings, and repairs accurately using the company's electronic reporting system.
• Collect payment from customers for approved additional repairs and maintenance work.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through professional and responsive service.
• Identify lost customers, potential service opportunities, and new business leads, and communicate these to the Service Manager.
• Continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of your service run and daily activities.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and QBCC licensing requirements.

Desired Skills and Experience

What We’re Looking For

• Current QBCC Licence
• Valid working rights in Australia and a current driver's licence.
• Experience in plumbing, wastewater, irrigation, maintenance, or a similar field.
• Confident using power and hand tools and carrying out repairs and fault-finding activities.
• Ability to work independently, manage your schedule, and complete electronic reporting.
• Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Commitment to safety, compliance, and quality workmanship.
