Job summary

Berendsen Fluid Power is seeking a hydraulic field service technician to diagnose faults on-site across mining, manufacturing and construction. You’ll travel to sites, decide fixes, install and commission hydraulic systems, and perform preventative maintenance while documenting service reports.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in diesel, auto, mechanical or hydraulic fitting.
• Experience in hydraulic field service and ability to write service reports.
• Desirable: ability to read hydraulic circuits.

Responsibilities

• Head out to site, diagnose fault, and get machine running.
• Decide on fix (repair or replace) and drive it through.
• Install and commission new hydraulic systems.
• Carry out preventative maintenance on existing equipment.
• Time in workshop on cylinder rebuilds, pump and motor repairs and testing.
• Work safely and in line with WHS procedures.

What you’ll be doing

• Heading out to site, diagnosing the fault, and getting the machine back up and running
• Deciding on the fix (repair or replace) and driving it through
• Installing and commissioning new hydraulic systems
• Carrying out preventative maintenance on existing equipment
• Time in the workshop on cylinder rebuilds, and pump and motor repairs and testing
• Doing it all safely and in line with WHS procedures

What you’ll bring

• Trade qualification (Diesel, Auto, Mechanical or Hydraulic Fitter)
• Hydraulic field service experience, with the ability to write clear, concise service reports
• Hydraulic overhaul and diagnostics experience, and the ability to read hydraulic circuits (desirable)
• Flexibility for overtime and weekend call-out rosters when needed
• Valid driver’s licence and a safety-first mindset
• Ambition to build a long-term career with us
