Job summary

Uniting is seeking a Service Manager to lead headspace Penrith Primary Care, guiding daily operations and clinical leadership for young people’s mental health services. You will drive quality, performance and recovery-oriented care while coordinating staff and budgets.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to deliver accessible, evidence-based programs and ensure funding requirements are met. A current Australian Driver Licence is essential.

• Employment Type: Full-Time position (Monday to Friday) Max -term until October 2027
• Salary: HPA Level 5, Starting from $75 per hour commensurate with experience + Salary Packaging benefits of up to $18,550 per annum

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Service Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of headspace Penrith Primary Care.

This is an opportunity to provide strong operational and people leadership while supporting the delivery of high-quality, accessible and recovery-oriented mental health services for young people.

Working closely with senior leadership, you will lead the team to deliver best-practice services, drive continuous improvement and ensure the service meets its strategic, quality and funding requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide visible and supportive leadership to a multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical staffs, fostering a positive, inclusive and high-performing culture.
• Lead the day-to-day operations and service delivery across headspace Penrith Primary Care and related services in the centre including Work and Study program.
• Provide clinical leadership, consultation and support for complex and critical matters.
• Oversee intake, referrals, case allocation, clinical reviews, workforce planning and rostering.
• Lead recruitment, onboarding, staff development, supervision and performance management.
• Drive quality improvement, accreditation, audits and service evaluation activities.
• Monitor service outcomes, data and KPIs, supporting reporting and funding requirements.
• Manage allocated budgets and resources effectively.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen service outcomes.

About You

You’re an experienced mental health professional and people leader who is passionate about delivering meaningful outcomes for young people and their communities.

You’ll bring:

• Relevant allied health qualifications in Community Services, Mental Health, Youth Work or an equivalent field.
• Significant experience in mental health, including working with people experiencing severe and persistent mental illness.
• Demonstrated leadership and people management experience.
• Strong understanding of recovery-oriented mental health practice.
• Experience leading and reviewing mental health services and supports.
• Strong skills in performance management, recruitment, coaching and team development.
• Experience with service planning, budgets, KPIs and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong professional judgement and the ability to manage complex situations.
• A current Australian Driver Licence.
