Job summary

The Y WA is seeking a Senior Youth Worker to co-create the Newman Night Space Program, delivering engaging activities and support for local young people. You’ll foster safe, inclusive spaces and collaborate with families and community partners to build positive experiences.

You’ll work from the Newman site with evening and weekend shifts, contributing to program planning, evaluation and safeguarding, while mentoring junior Youth Support Workers and upholding the organisation’s values.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering youth programs, outreach, individual support or community-based services.
• Ability to work with diverse communities in remote or regional settings.
• Commitment to culturally safe and trauma-informed practice.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and evaluate a range of educational, recreational and diversionary activities for young people.
• Provide individualised support and connect young people with services and pathways.
• Build relationships with families, carers and community stakeholders.
• Assist with rosters, meetings, reporting and program planning while ensuring safeguarding and compliance.
