Job summary

YSAS Youth Support and Advocacy Service in Geelong seeks a Shift Senior to lead a Residential Unit, delivering evidence-based care for young people. The role forms part of the leadership group, delegating to manage youth workers and support staff, ensuring high-quality service through supervision and coordination.

The role requires a 24-hour roster with potential night shifts; the position currently includes night shifts.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people with problematic alcohol and drug issues in a residential setting and harm reduction context.
• Ability to apply interventions for drug and alcohol withdrawal and rehabilitation.
• Strong engagement and communication skills with diverse young people.
• Proven ability to provide shift leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including rostering and compliance.
• Experience developing and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships.
• Developed report writing and data management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Residential Unit as part of the leadership group and delegate to model YSAS values.
• Oversee day-to-day operations, rostering, and compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
• Ensure delivery of evidence-based care meeting professional, organisational, legal and ethical standards.
