Job summary

Carinity Education – Gladstone is seeking a passionate, experienced Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing to lead our Youth Worker team and deliver trauma-informed, strengths-based support for young people.

You will oversee student wellbeing casework, coach staff, respond to complex behaviours, and champion wellbeing approaches, building strong links with families and community services to coordinate meaningful support.

Qualifications

• Diploma of Youth Work or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting vulnerable, disengaged or marginalized young people to achieve positive outcomes.
• A strong understanding of co-regulation practices and trauma-informed approaches to behaviour support.
• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in a complex or challenging environment.
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of student’s Individual Learning Plans through a structured Support Committee.

About the role:

Carinity Education –Gladstone is seeking a passionate, experienced, and proactive Senior Youth Worker – Student Wellbeing (SYWSW) to join our committed and student focused team.

In this rewarding leadership role, you will guide and support our Youth Worker team to deliver consistent, trauma-informed and strengths-based support for young people. Leading by example, you will help create a safe and inclusive environment where students feel valued, supported, and empowered to overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve positive personal and educational outcomes.

You will oversee student wellbeing casework, coach staff in effective youth work practices, support responses to complex behaviours and critical situations, and champion trauma-informed approaches across the School. You will also build strong relationships with students, families, colleagues and community support services to ensure young people receive coordinated and meaningful support.

• Demonstrated experience leading, supervising and mentoring Youth Workers in a complex or challenging environment
• Demonstrated experience in the development, implementation, and monitoring of student’s Individual Learning Plans through a structured Support Committee
• Highly developed interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
• Current Bus Licence (LR) or willingness to obtain
