Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience developing, reviewing or implementing policy, procedures or guidance in a complex operational setting.
• Ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into clear policy guidance.
• Experience contributing to Charter assessments or human rights analyses is desirable.
• Strong research and analytical skills drawing on evidence, legislation and best practice.
• Clear, audience-appropriate written policy and procedural communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review operational policies and procedures to ensure contemporary, evidence-based guidance.
• Support ongoing implementation of Youth Justice legislation, policy and reforms.
• Ensure policies comply with Youth Justice Act 2024, Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006, Child Safe Standards and related laws.
• Undertake research and analysis to inform policy and procedures.
• Collaborate with Youth Justice staff and stakeholders to develop practical, legally sound guidance.
