Job summary

Sport Integrity Australia is seeking a Senior WHS Advisor to join the People and Capability team in Canberra. The role will shape WHS, psychosocial safety, injury management and employee case management across the agency, providing practical, defensible guidance under limited direction.

You will lead WHS initiatives, embed proactive risk management and strengthen safety culture while delivering training and tools to managers and staff. This is an ongoing role based in ACT.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge of WHS legislation and practice.
• Experience managing complex WHS matters, workers’ compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
• Ability to interpret legislation and policy to provide practical advice.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment skills.
• Strong written communication for briefs, reports and procedures.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate WHS advice to managers, workers and stakeholders.
• Manage hazards, incidents and WHS risks with investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate WHS consultation, governance and reporting.
• Lead WHS improvement initiatives and maintain procedures, tools and registers.
• Analyse WHS data to identify trends and strengthen controls.
• Manage complex health, injury, rehabilitation and return-to-work matters.
• Collaborate with business areas to develop WHS tools and protocols for remote work and high-risk activities.
• Prepare briefs, correspondence and governance papers for senior decision-makers.
