Job summary

Sport Integrity Australia is seeking a Senior WHS and Case Management Advisor in Canberra. The role supports WHS, psychosocial safety, injury management and employee case handling within the People and Capability team.

The Senior advisor provides practical, evidence-based guidance under limited direction, leading day-to-day WHS projects and improving safety culture. It requires interpreting legislation and complex requirements for defensible advice.

Qualifications

• Specialist knowledge of WHS legislation and practice, including risk management and incident handling.
• Experience managing complex WHS matters, workers’ compensation, rehabilitation and return-to-work processes.
• Ability to translate complex legislation into clear, practical advice.
• Strong analytical, risk assessment and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written communication for briefs, reports and recommendations.
• Solid stakeholder engagement and influencing capabilities.
• Experience developing WHS programs and training to build capability.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, risk-based WHS advice to managers, workers and stakeholders.
• Manage hazards, incidents and WHS risks with investigations and actions.
• Coordinate WHS consultation and governance across committees and inspections.
• Lead WHS improvement initiatives and maintain procedures and tools.
• Analyse WHS data to identify trends and improve controls.
• Manage complex rehabilitation and return-to-work matters with medical evidence.
• Collaborate with business areas to implement WHS procedures and risk tools.
• Provide guidance for performance, conduct and complaint investigations.
• Prepare evidence-based briefs and governance papers for senior decision-makers.
