Job summary

Fyfe is seeking an experienced Senior Water Engineer in Australia for a 6-month contract with potential extension. You will lead water servicing strategies, assess growth areas, and guide hydraulic modelling while mentoring a small team.

The role involves strategic planning, development servicing assessments, and contributing to long-term capital investment priorities within Fyfe's national water portfolio. This position reports to the water sector leadership and operates on site in Australia.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in water network planning and hydraulic modelling.
• Experience using water network hydraulic modelling software.
• Experience applying modelling to strategic planning, development servicing or infrastructure investment.
• Strong understanding of water network infrastructure and system behaviour.
• Experience providing technical leadership, peer review or mentoring.

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic growth planning: supervise water network modelling and develop servicing strategies for priority growth areas.
• Assess network capacity: identify pressure, flow and capacity constraints, infrastructure triggers and augmentation needs.
• Oversee hydraulic modelling: guide model development, simulations, methodologies and documentation.
• Advise on developments: assess servicing proposals and provide guidance on constraints, upgrades and requirements.
• Provide technical leadership: lead and mentor a small team and ensure technical assurance.
• Support investment planning: contribute to network plans, infrastructure staging and long-term capital priorities.
