Job summary

Coliban Water in Bendigo is seeking a Senior Operator to ensure the safe, efficient and compliant operation of wastewater treatment facilities, including Water Reclamation Plants and the Bendigo Recycled Water Factory. The role oversees daily operations, maintenance and regulatory compliance.

You will monitor performance, coordinate maintenance, collect data and help improve plant efficiency while adhering to safety standards and the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement terms.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Water Industry (or equivalent experience).
• At least 5 years' relevant experience.
• Experience operating and maintaining water and/or wastewater treatment plants.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and record-keeping skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain wastewater treatment systems and recycled water facilities.
• Inspect lagoon conditions and assess plant performance.
• Collect operational data, samples and water quality information.
• Coordinate maintenance activities and repairs.
• Manage sludge removal and disposal activities.
• Monitor equipment and manage chemical ordering.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and safety standards.
• Identify opportunities to improve plant performance and efficiency.
