Job summary

Liontown Limited seeks an experienced Senior Mine Surveyor for our Kathleen Valley lithium operation in Western Australia. This permanent role supports underground mining, reporting to the Surveying Superintendent, with an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.

You will lead survey control, 3D modelling, volume calculations and instrumentation, collaborating with engineers and geologists to ensure data accuracy and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Diploma in Surveying, Geomatics, or a related field.
• Grade 1 Authorised Mine Surveyors Certificate (highly desirable).
• Proven experience in a mining operations environment, with exposure to underground mining preferred.
• Proven track record in leading surveying activities in underground environments.
• Proficiency in surveying software and GIS tools; exposure to Deswik is advantageous.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication and collaboration within cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain survey control points and networks within underground workings.
• Conduct regular check surveys, traverses and adjustments to ensure data accuracy.
• Oversee surveys of declines, development drives, and stopes to map underground workings.
• Provide precise measurements for drilling, blasting, and ore extraction activities.
• Create 3D models and maps to support mine planning and development.
• Collaborate with mine engineers to optimise underground infrastructure layout.
• Calculate and monitor ore volumes, material movements, and stope progression.
• Work with geologists to reconcile ore quality with production targets.
• Manage and calibrate survey instruments, including total stations and laser scanners.
• Implement advanced surveying technologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Review work of staff to ensure procedures are correctly applied, calculations are accurate, and compliance with legislation.
