Job summary

Laing O’Rourke in Sydney is seeking a Senior Treasury Analyst to join our finance team at the head office. You will report to the Head of Finance Services & Treasury and gain broad treasury experience in a privately owned Tier 1 constructor and international engineering enterprise.

Qualifications

• Must have tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, economics or related numerical discipline.
• CA or CPA preferred but not essential.
• 5+ years’ experience in treasury or corporate finance.
• Demonstrated experience across cash management, liquidity, risk exposures, and treasury controls.
• Strong numerical and modelling skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to influence non-finance stakeholders.

• Managing cash flow forecasting, daily funding and bank administration
• Supporting ad hoc projects and financial analysis
• Driving process improvement and documentation across treasury activities
• Assisting with the management of risk exposures
• Assisting with routine and ad hoc treasury reporting
• Managing the ongoing issuance and administration of surety bonding and guarantees
• Monitoring and maintaining bank accounts and balances
• Collaborating with the Treasurer to develop the Treasury function

Key responsibilities

• Managing cash flow forecasting, daily funding and bank administration
• Supporting ad hoc projects and financial analysis
• Driving process improvement and process documentation across key Treasury activities
• Assisting with the management of risk exposures
• Assisting with the preparation of routine and ad hoc treasury reporting
• Managing the ongoing issuance and administration of surety bonding and guarantees
• Monitoring and maintaining bank accounts and balances, resolving any outstanding banking issues
• Working with the Treasurer on the continual development of our Treasury function

About you

• Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, economics or a related numerical discipline; CA or CPA preferred but not essential
• 5+ years’ experience in treasury or corporate finance, with strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving capabilityDemonstrated experience across treasury disciplines such as cash and liquidity management, financial risk management, transactional banking, treasury management systems and treasury operational controls
• Strong numerical and modelling skills with good attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner with and influence non-finance stakeholders
• Able to manage and deliver multiple assignments of varying priority and difficulty, working effectively under tight deadlines and pressure
