Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking an experienced Senior Claims Consultant for our Travel Claims team in Sydney or Brisbane. This permanent full-time role offers flexible hybrid working, with WFH options and office presence in the CBD.

You will manage and adjudicate travel insurance claims, assess coverage, and facilitate timely resolutions for clients while staying compliant with regulatory requirements and internal policies. Strong policy interpretation and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in travel claims management.
• Proficiency in interpreting insurance policy language.
• Certification in claims handling or insurance (ANZIIF) preferred.
• Familiarity with claims management systems and software applications used in the insurance industry.

Responsibilities

• Review travel insurance claims to determine coverage eligibility and validity.
• Conduct investigations into claim circumstances and gather information.
• Collate medical records, policy provisions, and other docs to evaluate coverage and liability.
• Communicate with claimants, policyholders and stakeholders to gather details.
• Make informed settlement decisions within authority limits.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and company policies throughout the process.
• Document decisions and communications in the claims management system.
• Provide guidance to claims staff and assist with complex reviews.
