Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking experienced Senior Claims Consultants to join our Travel Claims team in Sydney or Brisbane. The role offers permanent full-time work with flexible hybrid arrangements, including WFH, and offices in Sydney or Brisbane CBDs.

You will manage and adjudicate travel insurance claims, assess coverage, gather evidence, and facilitate timely resolutions for our clients. Strong policy interpretation, analytical skills, and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years travel claims experience.
• Ability to interpret insurance policy language.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to prioritise, manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Certification in claims handling (ANZIIF) preferred.
• Familiarity with claims management systems.

Your Role

Gallagher Bassett are currently seeking experiencedSenior Claims Consultants to join our Travel Claims team in Sydney or Brisbane. This role will be offered on a permanent full-time basis with flexible hybrid working arrangements, Working From Home (WFH) and in our Sydney or Brisbane CBD offices.

The Senior Claims Consultant plays a crucial role in managing and adjudicating travel insurance claims. You are responsible for assessing claims, determining coverage, and facilitating the claims process to ensure timely and accurate resolution for clients.

You will add value to Gallagher Bassett across the following:

• Review travel insurance claims to determine coverage eligibility and validity
• Conduct thorough investigations into the circumstances surrounding each claim, gathering relevant information from various sources
• Collate and review medical records, policy provisions, and other documentation to evaluate the extent of coverage and liability
• Communicate with claimants, policyholders, and other stakeholders to gather additional information and clarify details as needed
• Make informed decisions regarding claim settlements, negotiating settlements within established authority limits
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the claims process
• Document claim decisions, activities, and communications accurately and thoroughly in the claims management system
• Provide guidance and support to claims staff, assisting with complex claim reviews and sharing expertise in travel insurance
• Collaborate with underwriters, insurers, and other stakeholders to provide insights and recommendations for improving claim processes and mitigating risks
• Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging best practices in travel insurance claims management

We’re interested in hearing from people who possess:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in travel claims management, with a strong understanding of insurance principles and practices
• Proficiency in interpreting insurance policy language
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess complex situations and make sound decisions
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders
• Proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage workloads efficiently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Certification in claims handling or insurance (ANZIIF) preferred
• Familiarity with claims management systems and software applications used in the insurance industry
