Job summary

Gallagher Bassett is seeking experienced Senior Claims Consultants to join our Travel Claims team in Sydney or Brisbane. The role offers permanent full-time work with flexible hybrid arrangements, including WFH, and offices in Sydney or Brisbane CBDs.

You will manage and adjudicate travel insurance claims, assess coverage, gather evidence, and facilitate timely resolutions for our clients. Strong policy interpretation, analytical skills, and stakeholder communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years travel claims experience.
• Ability to interpret insurance policy language.
• Strong analytical and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to prioritise, manage workloads and meet deadlines.
• Certification in claims handling (ANZIIF) preferred.
• Familiarity with claims management systems.

Responsibilities

• Review travel insurance claims to determine coverage eligibility and validity.
• Conduct thorough investigations into claim circumstances and gather information.
• Collate and review medical records, policy provisions and documentation.
• Communicate with claimants, policyholders and stakeholders to gather details.
• Make informed settlements within authority limits.
• Ensure regulatory and policy compliance throughout the process.
• Document decisions and communications in the claims system.
• Provide guidance to claims staff and assist with complex reviews.
• Collaborate with underwriters and insurers to improve processes.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory changes.
