Job summary

Aurecon Group in Adelaide is seeking a Senior Transport Planning / Civil Engineer to lead planning studies and transport projects, applying rigorous engineering analysis and practical design thinking. You will deliver feasibility studies, advise on road design, drainage, and services impacts, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across South Australia.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant transport planning qualification.
• 7–12 years' experience delivering planning studies, roads, transport or civil infrastructure.
• Strong transport planning capability with road or general civil design experience preferred.
• Excellent technical writing and ability to explain engineering recommendations clearly.
• Willingness to work across adjacent transport and civil disciplines.
• Strong communication, collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in an engineering consultancy or complex infrastructure delivery environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver transport feasibility studies and options assessments for transport projects.
• Contribute to road design, drainage and services impacts analyses.
• Prepare clear, technically robust reports and design documentation.
• Use engineering judgement to develop defensible technical responses.
• Review analyses and provide practical recommendations within project context.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients and government stakeholders.
• Support project delivery, bids and work-winning activities in SA transport market.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and designers.
