Aurecon is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead land development and civil infrastructure design in Adelaide. You’ll work with multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, high‑quality outcomes across civil, land and water projects and mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering.
• Experience in land development or civil infrastructure design.
• Experience in the South Australian market is highly desirable.
• Ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure design projects.
• Oversee preparation of civil designs, drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across roads, drainage, earthworks, water and sewer reticulation, and industrial projects.
• Build and maintain client relationships with SA Water, councils and authorities.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift.
• Collaborate with South Australia and interstate teams (VIC, QLD, WA).
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and SA standards and approvals.

Land Development – Senior Civil Engineer

With a strong and growing Civil Infrastructure portfolio nationally and across South Australia, we are seeking a Lead Land Development Civil Engineer to join our Adelaide team and play a key role in delivering local and interstate projects.

How will your ideas contribute to shaping what’s next?

In this senior role, you’ll lead the delivery of land development and civil infrastructure design projects, combining technical excellence with project and client leadership. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders, you’ll help shape practical, high‑quality outcomes for a broad range of projects across civil, land and water infrastructure.

Role

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring engineers within the team and building strong, long‑term client relationships, winning team workload and contributing to the continued growth of Aurecon’s Land Development capability.

Here are the key things you’ll do to bring ideas to life:

• Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure design projects
• Oversee the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation
• Provide technical leadership across: Roads, drainage, earthworks and municipal works, Water and sewer reticulation, Civil site and industrial infrastructure projects
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients including SA Water, councils, and key authorities
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift
• Collaborate across South Australia and interstate teams (VIC, QLD, WA)
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and South Australian standards, council requirements and authority approvals

What We’re Looking For

• Degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong experience in land development and/or civil infrastructure design
• Demonstrated experience working within the South Australian market (highly desirable)
• Strong understanding of: SA Water standards and requirements, local council and authority approvals, proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers
• Experience across the full project lifecycle (design through to construction)
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills

Technical Capability

• Design experience across roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and civil infrastructure
• Proficiency in design tools such as 12D and/or AutoCAD
• Strong understanding of Australian standards and local SA authority requirements
