Job summary

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer in Land Development to lead civil infrastructure design and deliver projects in Adelaide and interstate collaborations. The role blends technical excellence with project leadership and client relationship management.

You will mentor junior engineers, oversee design documentation, and ensure compliance with SA standards while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams across South Australia and beyond.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Strong experience in land development and/or civil infrastructure design.
• Demonstrated experience working within the South Australian market (highly desirable).
• Strong understanding of SA Water standards and requirements, local council and authority approvals, proven ability to lead projects and mentor engineers.
• Experience across the full project lifecycle (design through to construction).
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Technical capability: Design experience across roads, drainage, earthworks, utilities and civil infrastructure.
• Proficiency in design tools such as 12D and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of Australian standards and local SA authority requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver land development and civil infrastructure design projects.
• Oversee the preparation of civil engineering designs, drawings and technical documentation.
• Provide technical leadership across: Roads, drainage, earthworks and municipal works, Water and sewer reticulation, Civil site and industrial infrastructure projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients including SA Water, councils, and key authorities.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and contribute to team capability uplift.
• Collaborate across South Australia and interstate teams (VIC, QLD, WA).
• Ensure designs comply with Australian and South Australian standards, council requirements and authority approvals.
