Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking a Senior Traffic & Parking Assessment Officer to lead complex development assessments, shaping transport outcomes across the Georges River area.

The role requires a tertiary degree in civil/traffic engineering, extensive DA experience, and strong stakeholder management. Hybrid work options, competitive salary, and generous leave accompany the position.

Qualifications

• Experience processing development application referrals for varied complexity.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, plans and specifications.
• Experience in preparing conditions of approval or comments for DA/Planning Proposals.
• Experience in peer reviews and commenting on transport, pedestrian and parking matters.
• Knowledge of intersection analysis and traffic modelling tools.
• Understanding of relevant legislation (EP&A Act 1979, Roads Act 1993, LGA 1993).

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment of complex development proposals and influence transport outcomes.
• Provide expert technical leadership on traffic, transport and parking matters.
• Review technical studies and develop practical, evidence-based solutions.
• Contribute to policy development and cross-functional projects.
• Represent Council in Land and Environment Court proceedings when required.
