Job summary

Georges River Council is seeking an Asset Engineer to support the sustainable management of the Council's asset portfolio. You will maintain asset data, perform condition and risk assessments, and assist with asset planning and budgeting.

The role sits in the assets and Traffic team and requires collaboration with internal teams to improve data quality and reporting. The successful candidate will bring tertiary qualifications in engineering or asset management (or equivalent experience), a

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in engineering, project management, asset management or minimum 3 years demonstrated relevant experience in a related field
• Current Class C Drivers Licence
• Construction Induction (White Card)
• Proven ability to interpret design drawings
• High level of personal communication skills, both written and oral
• Ability to produce accurate, clear, concise, and timely reports
• Ability to research and source information of a technical nature
• Current knowledge of engineering practice, particularly in a Local Government context
• Sound organisational and time management skills
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Good understanding of civil engineering modelling software, GIS (mapping) software, CAD software
• Sound computer skills with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office software

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve asset data accuracy and reliability.
• Undertake condition and risk assessments.
• Support asset planning activities and budgeting processes.
• Contribute to financial reporting and project procurement where needed.
• Collaborate across Council to improve asset systems and data quality.
