Job summary

Synergy's Principal Trading Systems Business Analyst role is based at our Central Park, Perth office in the Wholesale Business Unit. You will translate complex business needs into actionable, testable functional requirements for trading systems, collaborating with internal development and testing teams.

You’ll work with trading, generation, and commercial teams and create UML domain models to support presentations and ensure alignment with market rules across electricity and gas markets.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Science or related discipline
• Minimum 5 years' experience as a Senior Business Analyst in a complex software environment
• Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies
• Familiarity with UML/OOAD domain modelling

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain domain models, business logic, and functional design specs to ensure trading software is compliant and commercially effective
• Partner with stakeholders and tech teams to design, enhance, and deliver trading system solutions
• Drive continuous improvement of wholesale trading platforms through stakeholder engagement and value-adding enhancements
• Lead documentation and assessment of trading system controls to ensure compliance with WEM rules and market requirements
• Ensure design and documentation support decision-making, data capture, and reporting
