Qualifications

• Current Manual HR Driver’s Licence and Australian Citizenship.
• Experience in surface mining/resource definition environments with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills.

• Ability to travel extensively and work on remote mine sites.
• Eligible to obtain required site inductions, medical clearances, access permits, and radiation-related licences.
• Strong communication, customer engagement, and Microsoft Office skills.

• Leadership or supervisory experience in mining operations.
• Experience with mining technology, instrumentation, automation, or field-based systems.
• Equipment mobilisation, site logistics, and contractor coordination experience.
• Previous involvement in mining technology deployment projects.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Field Technician to support the deployment, operation and maintenance of AssayTrack systems across surface exploration, resource definition and surface mining operations throughout Australia.

This role sits within Hopper Industrial Group (HIG), a subsidiary aligned with Orica's operations and offers the opportunity to work closely within Orica's global technology and mining environment.

This role will initially be based in our Perth (Welshpool) office and workshop, supporting equipment preparation, logistics, operational planning and product readiness activities. As the business grows, the successful candidate must be willing and able to transition into site-based rostered field work as required by operational demands.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring safe, reliable and efficient field operations while acting as a trusted interface between customers, mine site personnel and Orica's technical teams.

This position is ideally suited to a practical mining professional with strong operational experience, mechanical aptitude, leadership capability and a commitment to safety and customer service.
