Job summary

Laing O'Rourke Australia is seeking a Senior Technical Project Leader to drive the technical execution of complex projects across the engineering and construction lifecycle. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, champion innovation, and ensure high-quality, compliant delivery from early concept through to handover.

The role demands deep experience in civils, structures, and potentially MEP or rail systems, with strong leadership and collaboration across project partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 15 years' experience with at least 5 years in site delivery of major design & construction projects.
• Desirable experience in highways and marine-related scopes.
• Professionally chartered with a recognised professional institution.
• Technical expertise in civils and structures or MEP or rail systems.
• Proven collaboration with clients and partners across delivery teams.
• Team leadership and line management experience.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Project Director/Leader and Functional Leaders from early engagement through to technical completion.
• Develops integrated technical solutions aligned with the project execution plan and build.
• Leads technical excellence via innovative temporary and permanent works solutions.
• Drives Design for Manufacture and Assembly and digital engineering adoption.
• Oversees compliance standards for design partners and monitor ongoing compliance.
• Leads the delivery of all technical aspects with cross-functional teams.
