Job summary

Arup is seeking a senior ecology leader to guide Queensland projects, setting high standards for ecological assessment, field investigations and reporting. You will work with the Ecology Team Leader and national groups to strengthen technical capability across transport, water, waste and renewable energy.

You will coach ecologists, share technical guidance, and contribute to proposals and business development while serving as a trusted adviser to clients and regulators.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in ecology or a related discipline.
• 12–15+ years of relevant experience leading complex ecology projects.
• SQP status for protected plants surveys in Queensland is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Experience providing technical leadership and regulator-facing deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical leadership for Queensland ecology team; set high standards for assessment and reporting.
• Lead technical delivery on major ecology projects, including study design and impact assessment.
• Coach and mentor ecologists to develop consistent methods and capabilities.
• Develop technically credible scopes, methodologies, and proposals for ecology-led and multidisciplinary opportunities.
• Build trusted technical relationships with clients, regulators and project teams.
