Arup in NSW seeks an Ecologist to apply ecology and biodiversity expertise across transport, energy, water, waste and urban development projects in New South Wales. You will contribute to ecological assessments that support major infrastructure and strategic planning, working with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality technical outcomes.

This role suits someone with 4 to 8 years of ecological consulting experience and a solid understanding of NSW biodiversity legislation and approval

Qualifications

• Experience in ecological assessments within NSW.
• Knowledge of NSW biodiversity legislation, BAM and EPBC Act.
• Experience with field surveys and biodiversity reporting.
• Strong written and oral communication.
• Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Deliver ecological assessments and biodiversity inputs for infrastructure, development, and planning projects across NSW.
• Coordinate field investigations, vegetation integrity assessments, habitat surveys, and baseline studies.
• Prepare technical reports and biodiversity documentation.
• Support BAM projects through data collection, mapping, reporting, and review.
• Collaborate with planners, environmental specialists, designers, and stakeholders on proposals and delivery.
