ALRA is seeking a Technical Lead Ecologist to join a global Engineering and Sustainability Consultancy's Queensland Ecology team, based in Brisbane or on the Sunshine Coast. The role is purely technical leadership, not people management, focusing on technical depth, guiding project delivery and mentoring the eight-strong ecology team as it grows.

Ideal candidates have 15+ years in ecology consulting, deep Queensland ecological knowledge, and strong fauna or flora expertise with local project

Qualifications

15+ years in ecology consulting.
Deep Queensland ecological knowledge and legislative experience.
Strong fauna or flora expertise across major project assessments.
Comfortable mentoring Ecologists and reviewing complex technical work.
Brisbane or Sunshine Coast location preference.

Responsabilités

Lead technical delivery across Environmental Impact Assessments, EPBC referrals and ecological assessments.
Provide technical reviews, mentoring and specialist advice to the ecology team.
Guide project delivery on major transport, renewables, and infrastructure projects.
Develop capability in critical minerals, mining ecology or biodiversity offsetting depending on your expertise.
