Job summary

The role leads the technical delivery capability across multiple enterprise SaaS projects, blending architectural oversight with delivery leadership and strong Java credibility.

You will mentor engineers, review designs, allocate resources and work with delivery managers to balance customer priorities with platform integrity and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Strong Java engineering knowledge and ability to review code and designs.
• Experience leading developers or technical teams delivering complex production software.
• Experience in SaaS, platform or software vendor environments.
• Exposure to multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Experience guiding resource allocation and risk management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery capability supporting multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Prioritise engineering capacity across competing customer requirements.
• Review and challenge estimates, technical approaches, sequencing and delivery commitments.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical designs balancing speed and long-term integrity.
• Take ownership of technical decisions where priorities compete.
• Act as a senior technical adviser in customer discussions on design, risk and trade-offs.
• Identify risks early and collaborate with Delivery Managers to prevent overruns.
• Provide technical leadership to the Java development team and mentor engineers.
• Ensure alignment with platform architecture, security and engineering standards.
• Resolve complex technical and architectural issues with the team.
• Support effective planning of development resources across the portfolio.
• Deliver technically sound solutions that also meet customer outcomes.
