Job summary

Effie Kats is seeking an experienced Senior Tech Pack Technician to support the technical development of our growing womenswear collections. You will translate creative concepts into production-ready tech packs and have an exceptional understanding of garment construction and fabrication.

You will work closely with design and production across gowns, dresses, tailoring, separates and structured pieces from development through to production, communicating effectively with offshore manufacturers

Qualifications

• Senior-level experience in technical design, garment technology or tech pack development.
• Strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, fit and manufacturing.
• Ability to translate sketches and design direction into production-ready tech packs.
• Experience with offshore manufacturers and international suppliers is advantageous.
• Experience in premium or designer womenswear is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Effie Kats is seeking an experienced Senior Tech Pack Technician to join our team and support the technical development of our growing womenswear collections.

Working closely with our design and production team, you will be responsible for translating creative concepts into clear, accurate and production-ready technical packs. This role requires an exceptional understanding of garment construction, fit and fabrication, with the ability to anticipate technical challenges and communicate solutions effectively to our manufacturers.

With a focus on elevated womenswear and occasion dressing, you will work across gowns, dresses, tailoring, separates and structured pieces from initial development through to production.

The Role

You will take ownership of technical documentation across the development process, ensuring every garment is communicated accurately and consistently from design concept through to final production.

Key responsibilities include:

• Creating detailed production-ready tech packs and technical flats
• Developing garment specifications, measurement charts and points of measure
• Documenting construction methods, seams, finishes, closures, linings, trims and hardware
• Translating sketches, reference imagery and design direction into technically achievable garments
• Reviewing samples and providing detailed fit, construction and workmanship comments
• Communicating clearly with local and international manufacturers.

About You

You will have senior-level experience in technical design, garment technology or tech pack development, ideally within premium or designer womenswear.

You will bring a strong understanding of garment construction, patternmaking, fit and manufacturing, with particular confidence working across occasionwear, gowns, tailoring, structured garments and stretch fabrications.

You will also be highly organised and detail-oriented, comfortable managing multiple styles simultaneously, confident communicating technical requirements to factories, and capable of working independently while collaborating closely with a creative team.

Experience working with offshore manufacturers and international suppliers will be highly regarded.

We are looking for someone who understands how a garment is actually constructed and can use that knowledge to turn a creative concept into a commercially viable, beautifully finished product.

You will have the confidence to question construction where necessary, recommend technical solutions and maintain the integrity of the original design throughout development.
