Job summary

The Attorney-General’s Department is seeking a Team Leader for the Registration Branch in Adelaide. You will lead a team delivering marriage and relationship services, including solemnising marriages, registration, certificates and records management, with a focus on effective service delivery and compliance.

You’ll provide technical and operational leadership, manage competing priorities, and guide staff through sensitive statutory matters.

Responsibilities

• Team leadership and performance: Set clear priorities, allocate workloads and establish expectations, coach/mentor team members, build capability and address performance or workplace matters fairly, fostering a team environment where people feel supported to perform at their best.
• Service delivery and workflow management: Solemnise marriages in accordance with the requirements of the Marriage Act 1961 and oversee day to day delivery of marriage and relationship services ensuring work and resource allocation is proportional to the demand.
• Complex statutory decisions and escalations: Provide direction on sensitive matters and exercise delegated authority in accordance with legislative and oversee complex corrections to the Register, ensuring proper assessment and evidence-based decision making.
• Financial, administrative and records governance: Oversee administrative and financial processes, including relevant controls and compliance requirements by ensuring records, information and documents are managed appropriately, with effective quality checks and controls in place to support privacy and records management obligations.
