Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) is offering a leadership role in Western Australia with a competitive salary of AUD 144,755 – AUD 154,717 per year plus 12% superannuation. The busy role focuses on safety reform, performance management, and continuous improvement within multidisciplinary project teams.

The role provides staff leadership, mentorship, and development opportunities, with flexible working arrangements and generous leave provisions.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership including staff training and development opportunities and develops the capacity of others through effective mentoring and commit to effective performance measurements at individual and team levels
• Provides leadership and manages, to build and optimise people's capabilities to develop motivated and cohesive work teams.
• Drives the achievement of individual and collective team goals; including working within multidisciplinary teams within a project management framework and developing the capacity of others through effective mentoring.
• Leads and manages a team to drive and champion the implementation and engagement of safety reform, continuous improvement and change management approaches.
• Administers the Dangerous Goods Safety Act 2004 associated regulations and applicable safety legislation.
• Contributes to the development Management policies governance standards and protocols including improvements to safety business processes and systems.
• Monitors and evaluates projects and operations on the basis of auditable performance measures, risk management and cost effectiveness.
