Job summary

George Kemp & Associates, a family-run boutique tax and accounting advisory firm in Sydney, seeks a senior reviewer to independently finalise individual and sole trader work. You will resolve client queries, sign off fees, and ensure timely completion of engagements using Xero and cloud-based practice systems.

The role offers hybrid flexibility with a Sydney CBD presence and potential for ongoing client relationships. CPA/CA/IPA qualifications and tax agent registration are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Substantial, recent experience in Australian public practice.
• Experience reviewing work prepared by other accountants.
• Strong knowledge of Australian individual and small business tax, GST and BAS.
• Proficient with Xero Tax and cloud-based practice systems.
• Excellent communication and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Review and finalise individual and sole trader tax returns and related schedules.
• Review BAS, GST treatment and supporting records in Xero.
• Identify and resolve bookkeeping errors and quality issues.
• Review work from local and remote teams and provide feedback.
• Communicate with clients to explain tax outcomes and resolve queries.
• Sign off fees within pricing guidelines and provide billing instructions.
• Provide practical feedback to associates preparing work.
• Escalate complex matters with clear summaries and approaches.
