Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support regulatory platforms across the technology lifecycle. You will work with government and internal teams to deliver secure, scalable systems with a strong focus on automation and modern engineering practices.

The role requires virtualization, Kubernetes, Rust familiarity, and a proactive approach to security and stakeholder management. Flexible office/remote arrangements are offered, with a strong emphasis on reliable technology delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience in full stack, end-to-end systems design and engineering across development to operations.
• Proxmox virtualization and Kubernetes (Rancher) experience.
• Rust familiarity and willingness to develop the skillset.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD and SDLC.
• Ability to use cloud-native designs in primarily on-prem environments.

Responsibilities

• Assist team in delivering end-to-end solutions across the technology lifecycle.
• Maintain highly available, secure, and scalable systems for regulatory platforms.
• Collaborate with government, vendors and internal teams to support delivery.
• Contribute to security risk assessments and maintain security architecture.
