Job summary

Optus is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support regulatory platforms with strong stakeholder engagement. You will help deliver end‑to‑end solutions through the full tech lifecycle, from development to operations, ensuring secure, reliable systems.

The role emphasizes government collaboration, on-prem workloads, and modern engineering practices, with an option for flexible hybrid work. You will be deeply involved in Linux-based infrastructure, virtualization (Proxmox), and container

Qualifications

Australian citizen eligible for Australian Government security clearance.
Experience in full stack, end-to-end systems design and engineering.
Strong Linux experience essential; virtualization and container tooling required.
On-premises design patterns using Terraform, Ansible, Packer, etc.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

Deliver end-to-end solutions across the technology lifecycle from development to operations.
Maintain highly available, secure, and scalable systems for regulatory platforms.
Collaborate with government and external stakeholders to support delivery and operations.
Contribute to security risk assessments and maintain security architecture.
Drive continuous improvement with automation and modern engineering practices.
