Job summary

Lockheed Martin Australia is seeking a Senior / Staff Systems Engineer to apply deep defence systems expertise across complex programs in Australia. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, guide requirements management, architecture and verification activities, and influence program outcomes.

You will bring 10+ years in systems engineering, MBSE and Agile practices, plus the ability to navigate security clearances and export controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of Systems Engineering experience in Defence/aerospace/high-technology programs.
• Expertise in requirements management, architectures, specialty engineering, or V&V.
• Proven ability to deliver across the engineering lifecycle.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience with MBSE, Agile practices, Defence domains, or test automation is valued.
• NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support systems engineering activities across complex Defence programs, from requirements definition through to integration, verification and delivery
• Provide specialist expertise in areas such as requirements management, systems architecture, specialty engineering, or verification & validation
• Contribute to technical reviews, bids, governance activities and engineering assurance processes across the business
• Collaborate with project teams, functional leaders and stakeholders to solve complex technical and program challenges
• Support the development and continuous improvement of Systems Engineering processes, tools, training and capability initiatives
• Mentor and guide engineers while promoting engineering best practice across the organisation
