Job summary

Electro Optic Systems in Australia is seeking a senior systems engineer to lead the technical integration strategy across complex defence projects. You will own architecture, interfaces and verification to deliver a producible, production-ready baseline across hardware, software and mechanical subsystems.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering with at least five years of multidisciplinary integration experience and deep knowledge of system architecture, governance and production

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and technical integration on complex projects.
• Demonstrated delivery of subsystem integration and system-level verification to an accepted product baseline.
• Strong understanding of system architecture, requirements, technical governance and configuration management.
• Experience with production transition and readiness for deployment.
• Desirable experience in Australian Defence regulatory environments (ASDEFCON).

Responsibilities

• Own the project’s technical integration strategy, engineering scope and delivery from planning through acceptance.
• Integrate hardware, software and mechanical subsystems into a coherent system architecture and verified product baseline.
• Coordinate safety, security and industrialisation activities across the development lifecycle.
• Manage technical interfaces and cross-disciplinary risks with evidence-based decisions.
• Provide system-level technical direction, reporting and escalation to leadership.
• Develop and maintain the technical integration plan including architecture, interfaces, dependencies and milestones.
• Plan and lead integration, verification, validation and acceptance activities.
• Ensure the design is producible, supportable and ready for production and customer use.
