Job summary

Electro Optic Systems seeks a Project Technical Lead (Project Engineer) to own the technical integration strategy for complex defence projects in Canberra. This full-time role focuses on delivering an integrated system architecture that combines hardware, software and mechanical subsystems into a verified baseline.

You will manage cross-disciplinary interfaces, dependencies and risks, and provide direction to engineering leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline; postgraduate qualifications are desirable.
At least five years’ experience leading multidisciplinary engineering and technical integration on complex projects.
Strong understanding of system architecture, requirements, governance and production transition.

Responsibilities

Own the project’s technical integration strategy and delivery from planning through acceptance.
Integrate hardware, software and mechanical subsystems into a coherent system architecture and verified product baseline.
Coordinate safety, security and industrialisation activities across the lifecycle of the project.
Provide clear system-level technical direction, decisions, reporting and escalation to project and engineering leadership.
Develop and maintain the technical integration plan, including architecture, interfaces and milestones.
Lead interface definition and control across teams, suppliers, platforms and customer systems.
Plan and lead integration, verification, validation and acceptance activities.
