Job description

About the job

About Goodman

At Goodman, your career is more than just a job – it’s about growth, innovation, and making a lasting impact. Whether you’re building your career in property, data centres, finance, legal, or beyond, we value diverse perspectives and seek individuals who are passionate about driving our business forward.

As providers of essential infrastructure for the digital economy, Goodman has been developing its data centre capability since 2005. Since then, we have grown to become a large owner of powered sites globally. Our global power bank of 5.0GW includes completed facilities, secured power and potential data centre projects across 13 major international cities. This has been built up over time through our expertise in securing land, planning and power in highly sought after locations in major global cities.

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Sustainability Analyst to take a lead role in greenhouse gas emissions accounting, climate reporting and sustainability performance across Goodman’s Australian business and property portfolio.

This is a hands‑on specialist role with genuine ownership. You’ll lead the annual emissions inventory and reporting process from data collection and calculation through review, assurance, approval and disclosure, working across Sustainability, Finance, Risk, Legal, Property, Developments and other teams.

Beyond emissions reporting, you’ll contribute to climate resilience, sustainability data and governance, helping ensure our reporting is accurate, well controlled and useful for business decision‑making.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead Goodman Australia’s end‑to‑end greenhouse gas emissions inventory and reporting process across Scope 1, Scope 2 and relevant Scope 3 emissions.
  • Apply the GHG Protocol and relevant Australian requirements to maintain robust methodologies, boundaries, assumptions and emission factors.
  • Coordinate climate and emissions reporting requirements, including AASB S2 / ASRS, NGER where applicable, investor and partnership reporting and broader corporate commitments.
  • Own the collection, validation and reconciliation of emissions data, identifying anomalies, resolving gaps and challenging assumptions where required.
  • Maintain clear, auditable calculation models, methodologies, controls and supporting evidence.
  • Coordinate external assurance and technical advisers, managing information requests, findings and data or control improvements.
  • Translate complex emissions information into clear insights, trends and recommendations for management and governance forums.
  • Support portfolio climate risk and resilience activities including physical and transition risk assessments, scenario analysis and adaptation priorities.
  • Work with data platforms, utility providers and internal teams to continually improve sustainability data quality, controls and reporting processes.
  • Contribute to broader sustainability priorities including embodied carbon, life cycle assessments and industry or policy initiatives.

What You’ll Bring:

You’ll be a technically strong sustainability professional who enjoys getting into the detail but can also step back and explain what the numbers mean.

Ideally, You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in greenhouse gas accounting, climate reporting, sustainability reporting, assurance, advisory or a comparable corporate role.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, Scope 2 Guidance and Scope 3 Standard.
  • Experience managing a complex reporting cycle involving multiple data owners, reviewers, advisers, assurance providers and senior stakeholders.
  • Understanding of Australian climate and emissions reporting requirements, ideally including exposure to ASRS/AASB S2 and NGER.
  • Strong analytical capability across large and complex datasets, including validation, reconciliations, variance analysis and audit trails.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ideally experience with sustainability data and reporting platforms such as Envizi, Power BI or similar.
  • The ability to turn technical emissions and climate information into clear, practical insights for non‑technical stakeholders.
  • A relevant qualification in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, accounting, finance, data analytics or a related discipline.

Experience within property, infrastructure, the built environment or another asset‑intensive sector would be valuable, as would exposure to external assurance, utility data, embodied carbon, life cycle assessment, Green Star, NABERS, GRESB or climate risk assessment.

You’re methodical, curious and comfortable taking ownership of complex work. You care about getting the detail right, but you’re equally prepared to question a methodology, challenge an assumption or follow an issue through until it is resolved. You’ll work independently while building strong relationships across the business and will be comfortable balancing technical rigour, commercial judgement and competing reporting deadlines.
