NWEC Pty Ltd in Sydney, Australia, is seeking a Structural Steel Estimator to join our team. You will prepare detailed cost estimates for fabrication and installation projects, based on drawings, specifications and bills of quantities.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of estimating experience in structural steel or related industries, strong negotiating skills, and the ability to manage tender deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years estimating experience in structural steel, mechanical or piping.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience preparing cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Commercial awareness and cost control understanding.
• Familiarity with estimating software and Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tender deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for structural steel fabrication and installation.
• Review drawings, specifications, and BOMs to determine scope and requirements.
• Calculate material quantities and assess labour, fabrication, installation, equipment costs.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations.
• Prepare tender submissions and cost documentation within deadlines.
• Work with project managers and engineers to reflect scope and commercial requirements.
• Identify cost risks, value engineering opportunities and cost-saving ideas.
• Monitor changes in material prices and industry costs to stay competitive.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of estimating processes and systems.
