Job summary

Glencore Mount Isa Mines is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead the remediation, fabrication, preservation and installation of structural works across surface operations.

Reporting to the Practice Lead – Structural and Demolition Projects, you will plan, coordinate and supervise remediation projects, manage defects portfolio, and ensure delivery on time, within budget and to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural inspection, assessment and remediation in mining/heavy industrial environments.
• Ability to manage a defect remediation portfolio with risk-based prioritisation.
• Strong communication, organisational and teamwork skills across engineering, operations and construction.

Responsibilities

• Lead remediation planning and development of practical remediation plans for structural defects.
• Own assigned asset remediation portfolio and prioritise defects by risk and urgency.
• Group and sequence remediation works to maximise efficiency and reduce mobilisation.
• Coordinate with Construction Supervisors and contractors for safe planning and execution.
• Provide engineering oversight during construction ensuring compliance with designs and quality requirements.
• Monitor progress, budgets and reporting to stakeholders.
• Conduct workplace safety inspections and risk assessments.
