Job summary

GRG Engineers Pty Ltd is recruiting a qualified Structural Engineer in Newstead, QLD. You will design and analyse industrial and building structures, using SpaceGass, ETABS, Revit and Robot to ensure compliance with Australian Standards AS 4100, AS 3600 and AS 1170.

You will also supervise site activities, prepare technical reports, coordinate with contractors and apply design optimization to deliver safe, cost-effective structures on diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering ( Engineers Australia Stage 1 competencies ).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, including at least 12 months of Australian work experience.
• Experience in structural analysis and design of industrial and building structures.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards, particularly AS 4100, AS 3600 and AS 1170.
• Ability to prepare engineering calculations, drawings and technical reports.
• Demonstrated experience with site inspections/construction/project supervision.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to manage contractors and ensure compliance with engineering documentation.
• Australian or International equivalent Drivers Licences.

Responsibilities

• Designs and analyses industrial and building structures using specialized software to evaluate loads, stresses and safety factors.
• Develops advanced structural models for steel and reinforced concrete structures.
• Inspects and evaluates existing structures, proposing reinforcement or redesign solutions.
• Prepares technical reports, calculation notes, structural drawings and design recommendations.
• Supervises structural construction activities on site ensuring compliance with drawings and specs.
• Reviews and audits ITPs or NCRs for project compliance and design assumptions.
• Coordinates with contractors and multidisciplinary teams to resolve technical issues.
• Applies optimization criteria, evaluating design alternatives for safety and cost.
